First Com­pre­hen­sive Report of the Swiss Haemophil­ia Reg­istry Now Pub­lished

We are proud to share a mile­stone for the Swiss Haemophil­ia Net­work: the first com­pre­hen­sive report of the Swiss Haemophil­ia Reg­istry (SHR) has been pub­lished in the jour­nal Haemophil­ia.

This has been a true team effort. Since 2015, clin­i­cal staff, haemophil­ia nurs­es, and patients with their fam­i­lies across all 11 Swiss haemophil­ia treat­ment cen­tres have con­tributed data year after year, mak­ing this report pos­si­ble. We are deeply grate­ful to all cen­tre heads and their teams, and to the indus­try part­ners who have sup­port­ed the reg­istry finan­cial­ly.

With 929 patients and near­ly 5,000 patient-years of fol­low-up, the SHR pro­vides a com­pre­hen­sive pic­ture of how bleed­ing dis­or­der care in Switzer­land has evolved over the past decade and how much it has improved.

Look­ing ahead, a key pri­or­i­ty is expand­ing the reg­istry to bet­ter rep­re­sent women with bleed­ing disorders, patients with von Wille­brand dis­ease, and those with rare bleed­ing disorders.
